Counselor

Greetings Valencia Elementary Families! My name is Kristina Walker, and I am the school counselor here at Valencia Elementary. I have  a passion for supporting the well-being and success of our students,  I provide a wide range of services to support the social, emotional, and academic growth of our students. Whether it's navigating friendships, managing emotions, or developing essential life skills, I am here to lend a helping hand! 

Here are some of the key services and initiatives offered through the comprehensive school counseling program here at Valencia Elementary:

Individual Counseling: I offer confidential one-on-one counseling sessions to students who may be facing personal challenges or in need of extra support.

Group Counseling: Through engaging group activities and discussions, I facilitate small group counseling sessions to address common concerns and promote positive peer interactions, collaboration, leadership skills, and overall social/emotional growth. 

Classroom Guidance Lessons: I collaborate with teachers to deliver age-appropriate classroom guidance lessons on topics such as bullying prevention, conflict resolution, and character education.

Parent and Family Support: I partner with parents and families to provide resources and guidance to support student’s social-emotional development.

Crisis Intervention: In times of crisis or emergencies, I am available to provide immediate support and assistance to students, families, and staff members.
