A Valencia Elementary 6th grader has won the District Spelling Bee! M.G. was among ten enthusiastic elementary students from across Los Lunas Schools who competed in this year's spelling bee. Teachers, parents, and other family members filled the Los Lunas High School auditorium, cheering them on as each student took turns spelling words, demonstrating their hard work and dedication.

Los Lunas Schools is proud of each of our students. The event not only highlighted their individual talents but also fostered a sense of community and camaraderie among the young spellers.

Valencia Elementary School is excited to offer a variety of after-school clubs for students to join on Tuesdays and Thursdays, starting on September 24th, 2024. The following options are:
- Archery Club (4th-6th grade)
- Film/Gardening (K-6th grade)
- Sports/Lego Club (4th-6th grade)
- Battle of the Books (4th-6th grade)
- STEAM (3rd-6th grade)
Forms have been sent home with students. They will be selected based on the order in which forms are turned in, so please return them as soon as possible. Please note that transportation is not provided, and students will need to be picked up by 4:55pm. We hope to see many students take advantage of this opportunity to learn, grow, and have fun after school!

Valencia County announces Phase II to bring broadband access to underserved local communities.
Residents in Meadow Lake and El Cerro Mission may apply for FREE, reliable broadband internet.
The program is provided by Valencia County, Resound Networks and Meta (Los Lunas Data Center).
Only 150 Households will be able to take advantage of the free 2-year Internet subscription. Discounted rates are still available.
Program Details:
- Must be a resident of Meadow Lake or El Cerro Mission
- Eligibility based on need with qualifying factors such as current government assistance e.g. SNAP.
- Valencia County determines eligibility.
- This program is mainly first come, first served with a priority placed on homes with school age children.

Before and After School Program for Pre-K to 6th Grade:
- Monday-Friday in person school days
- Morning: 6:45am to dismissal
- Afternoon: After school to 6:00pm
- Apply Online
Project Keys includes help with homework, snacks, crafts, fun and games.
Weekly Rate Per Child:
- Before school only: $30
- After school only: $30
- Both before and after school: $60
- Sibling discount: 20%
- Los Lunas Schools employee discount: 20%
Child care assistance is accepted. Limited spots available.
